There are several ongoing research studies at the TMH right now. Below is a summary of the studies currently in progress.

On Going Trials

1) Medulloblastoma Trials:

Optimizing the physical and biological parameters in craniospinal irradiation (CSI) for embryonal CNS (central nervous system) tumors: a prospective study

2) Brain-stem glioma trials:

Concomitant and adjuvant Temozolomide with radical radiotherapy in children with brain stem gliomas – a prospective study

3) MGMT Trials:

Genome wide expression profiling to determine the molecular basis of sensitivity to Temozolomide in patients with Glioblastoma multiforme

4) 2 DG Trials:

A randomized controlled comparative trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 2-Deoxy –D- Glucose (2DG) as a radiomodifier in the treatment of Glioblastoma Multiforme.

5) SCRT :- Stereotactic Conformal Radiotherapy  (SCRT) Trials

Brain tumours are the commonest solid tumours in children and the second most common neoplasms overall in this patient population.
