Ependymoma :

§ Arise from ependymal cells of ventricles & central canal of cord.

§ More in young children

§ Usually in post. Cranial fossa.

Natural history :

§ Slow growing

§ Peri-vascular rosette formation.

§ Spread via CSF in 10% cases.

§ May be high/low grade depending on pleomorphism.

Imaging :

§ Posterior cranial fossa tumour

§ Calcification ++

§ Contrast enhancement +

§ Sign of hydrocephalous
